Grad Novi Pazar - City Council

The City Council is the executive body of the City. It consists of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and members of City Council, elected by the City Assembly for a period of four years, by secret ballot, by a majority of all votes.

City Council:

Propose the Statute, the budget and other decisions and acts adopted by the Assembly;
Directly executes and is concerned with the execution of decisions and other acts of the City Assembly;
Makes a decision on temporary financing in case the City Assembly does not make the budget before the start of the fiscal year;
Supervises the work of the city administration, annuls or abolishes acts of the city administration that are not in accordance with the law, statute and other general act or decision passed by the City Assembly;
Resolves in the second instance administrative procedure on the rights and obligations of citizens, companies and institutions and other organizations in administrative matters within the jurisdiction of the City;
Provide the execution of trusted jurisdictions within the framework of the rights and duties of the Republic, or autonomous province;
Establishes and dissolves the head of the city administration and their deputies;
Establishes the expert advisory body for the particular tasks within its competence;
Inform the public about their work;
Adopt its Rules of Procedure at the proposal of the Mayor.
